Tapping Into the Strengths of Different AI Models

Every large language model (LLM) has its own distinct character. NotebookLM excels at understanding the specific documents a user uploads and answering questions with high accuracy. ChatGPT is known for being flexible and rich in creative ideas. Claude tends to produce long, well-structured text and is excellent for coding needs. If you rely on just one model, you're leaving a huge amount of potential from other models on the table.

This approach is even recognized at the research level. MIT CSAIL has developed a strategy that uses multiple AI systems to cross-check and improve each other's factual accuracy. In the context of learning video production, one model can analyze source material, another can write the narration, and a third can validate the consistency of the output.

Content platforms using a multi-model approach report up to a 37% improvement in campaign effectiveness compared to those relying on a single, generalist AI assistant. So now the question becomes: how do we move effectively between one model and another?

Picture a scriptwriter who has to open NotebookLM to understand the material, copy the summary over to Claude to write a draft script, then move the result into ChatGPT to adapt the tone of voice. All of this is still done manually, one step at a time.

Research from Asana shows that the average worker switches between nine apps per day, and more than half of them feel overwhelmed by the constant stream of notifications.

Running the Pipeline With N8N

This is where a platform like N8N comes in. N8N is an open-source workflow automation platform that lets users connect various apps and AI services into one integrated, visual workflow.

It works through a node system, where each node represents a single step or tool, and these nodes can be connected to one another. There are nodes for OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google AI, Slack, Google Drive, Notion, and hundreds of other services.

What makes N8N compelling isn't just its long list of integrations, but its flexibility. N8N can be run entirely on-premise, meaning sensitive client data never has to leave the company's internal servers. That matters a great deal for teams working with confidential or proprietary training material.

As for ease of use, N8N has a drag-and-drop interface that lets non-technical teams build workflows without writing any code. One company within the N8N ecosystem reported that after adopting the platform, they managed to speed up data integration by 25 times. Teams that previously needed a developer to connect two systems can now do it themselves in a matter of hours.

With an AI pipeline built using N8N, the flow might look something like this. A client document is uploaded to Google Drive, automatically triggering a workflow in N8N. N8N then sends the documents to NotebookLM for processing. The output of this stage is a structured material briefing, with accuracy already verified against the source. That briefing is then passed on to Claude or ChatGPT, using a pre-configured prompt, to produce a draft.

These steps can be further adjusted, expanded, or trimmed as needed. When run properly and monitored closely, every production phase should be able to run far more efficiently.

Building a pipeline like this obviously requires a solid understanding of GenAI, along with the time to map out the workflow, design prompts, and select the right model for each step. But companies that manage to design and operate a system like this gain the capacity to respond to client needs with far more agility, freeing up their people to focus on more strategic areas.
