Many Companies Have Already Integrated Generative AI

Since the arrival of ChatGPT and other Generative AI platforms, Generative AI has shifted from a passing trend into a tool that genuinely supports day-to-day work. In a short span of time, we've already seen a remarkable transformation. What started out as a text-generation tool can now produce high-quality images and video, and even help shape entire content strategies.

According to a Kaltura survey, 52% of marketing professionals out of 500 respondents have already integrated AI into their workflow, while another 36% are in the experimentation stage. That means nearly 90% of marketing teams have had some contact with AI.

Interestingly, data from the World Economic Forum shows that jobs in media and marketing fall into the category with the highest potential to be replaced by AI — ranking third, just behind Artificial Intelligence and Big Data and Reading, Writing, and Mathematics.

Some examples of Generative AI in practice include drafting structured copywriting that matches a brand's tone, researching SEO keywords quickly, and analyzing audience sentiment on social media, among others.

Threat or Opportunity?

L&D and HR professionals have a strategic role to play in bridging this gap. One step they can take right away is auditing the current skill set within the marketing division, which is essential for identifying employees who still lack AI literacy.

As magical as Generative AI may feel, using it well still requires strategy. Deloitte has noted that many organizations struggle to scale the initial value they get from AI, largely because of a key constraint: a lack of skill among the people using it.

Once that gap has been identified, it's time to provide practice-based training — things like live prompt-crafting sessions, case studies on using GenAI for campaign content, or marketing automation simulations.

What's needed, of course, is a culture of exploration rather than competition. Instead of feeling threatened by AI, teams can start to see it as a working partner that speeds up processes and lifts overall company performance.

Marketing teams stand to gain enormously from GenAI when it comes to content creation, audience research, and data analysis. But if they don't know how to structure and input the right prompts, the results can fall short and end up far from optimal. It's a bit like working with a new vendor — you need to understand its communication style and process to get accurate, effective results.
